This year's International Day of Persons with Disabilities falls just a week before the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The United Nations is commemorating both under the theme, "Dignity and justice for all of us". This International Day for Persons with Disabilities is a time to make a renewed commitment to these principles of dignity and justice and to ensure implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. UN peacekeeping has been developed to help countries torn by conflict create conditions for lasting peace since the first mission was established in May 1948. There have been a total of 63 UN peacekeeping operations. Currently, more than 100,000 military and civilian personnel serve in 20 UN peace operations worldwide. MUN Calendar

Y.S.U.N. - Greece in a nutshell
The Youth Society for the United Nations - Greece is an initiative of young people, aged 18 to 30 years old, who strive to promote the principles and values stemming from the United Nations Charter. Intending to cultivate a spirit of mutual understanding, based on respect to differentiation and independence of every human being, we work towards attracting people's interest for all crucial issues of our times.
