The 6th Thessaloniki International Student Model United Nations, which is being held every year since 2002 by the Department of International and European, Economic and Political Studies of the University of Macedonia, will take place this year between the 11th and 15th of April at the University’s premises in Thessaloniki. In this year’s Conference, the functions of the General Assembly of the United Nations Committees (1st, 2nd and 3rd), the Economic and Social Council (Eco.So.C.), the Security Council, as well as the European Council and the Council of NATO (NAC) are simulated.
ThessISMUN is the only Greek student’s simulation conference of the UN, which attracts students from Greece, Europe and other parts of the world every year. During the days of the Conference, the participants are asked to provide solutions on matters that preoccupy the international community, simulating the role of diplomats, while they participate in a multicultural environment, which consists of students that share common concerns as well as values, ideals and interests.
The last two years ThessISMUN has managed to become one of the biggest Conferences in its category in Europe accumulating over 250 participations. This year’s ThessISMUN organizers have put in every effort possible in order to live up to the expectations of this year’s participants, offering a variety of issues for debate and an unforgettable environment.
This year, YSUN-Greece, just like last year, participates in the support of ThessISMUN maintaining an unbreakable bond with the Conference, which two years ago served as the place where the idea for the Organization was born. The experience and the love of the members of YSUN-Greece is, yet another year, the key factor for a lucrative cooperation, which we hope will further improve the institution.
