What does YSUN-Greece stand for?
The Youth Society for the United Nations-Greece is an attempt of people between 18 to 30 years old, who support the common values that derive from the United Nations’ Charter. This effort reflects our interest for a better and more just world, which we hope will be met with a great show of participation on behalf of both people between 18 and 30 years old and the Greek public opinion as a whole.
Why should there be one more society for the United Nations?
All our activities have as a primary aim to familiarize the Greek youth with the importance of the United Nations and the network of international relations built up around it, the actions and decisions of which, have a much more direct impact on citizens’ lives than we tend to assume.
Who is eligible to become a member of YSUN-Greece?
If you are an adult aged from 18 to 30 years old, residing anywhere in Greece or abroad, you can also participate as an active member in the activities of our organization.
Which are the aims of YSUN-Greece?
To promote the ideals and values deriving from the UN Charter to the Greek Society,
To stir the interest of citizens for International Relations,
To organize informative and other campaigns relating to the United Nations and its sister organizations,
To promote cooperation of young people from United Nations Member States,
To inform the Greek youth about the United Nations and its activities in cooperation with the United Nations Regional Information Centers.
What is the legal framework of YSUN-Greece?
In order to achieve its goals, YSUN – Greece acts as a Non-Governmental Organization without any political or economic dependence whatsoever.
Which are the means that YSUN-Greece uses for the achievement of its goals?
Speeches, lectures, seminars and conferences on issues concerning the aims of the Society as they were previously described,
Publication of information material or magazines,
Participation in, and coordination of activities of the above kinds with other Societies or Associations from other United Nations Member States or other countries in general and
Any action fit to the fulfillment of the aims of the Society, which is not contradictory to the Greek Public Order and the provisions of the Society’s Constitution.

Our organization is the only NGO in Greece that is in direct cooperation with the United Nations Regional Information Centre (UNRIC) that is based in Brussels, from which we get the information that we provide you with.
